AUT AUT

Andrea Biondi - Vibraphone, malletkat, laptop, synth, drums
Jacopo Ferrazza - bass, piano, synth, voice

AUT AUT is Andrea Biondi vibraphone + live electronics and Jacopo Ferrazza double bass + live electronics.
The project stems from elective affinities unknowingly matured over more than 10 years of friendship and shared music.
AUT AUT aims to be a cross-sectional point of view on the meaning of making music in the third millennium. A personal research on the thin line of history that makes us "children" of Perotinus and "fathers" of "virtual machines," in a straight line of time that has no discontinuity solutions.
AUT AUT pays special attention to the '900 from which it draws with a magnifying glass, further deconstructing what Ligety and Bartok handled, around the broader concept of tonality, using improvisation and electricity as structural and signifying elements.
AUT AUT feels the need to produce a composition, whether thoughtful or extemporaneous, to reformalize the concept of a "total work of art" where the fences of categories impose only illogical restrictions.

AUT AUT as stream of consciousness.....In this metaphysics of technology, the machine is separated from the body, culture from nature, and all this inevitably leads to the rapid refinement of technologies at the expense of the slow change of man himself, who, in today's age, has to come to terms with the perfection of his own creations and the imperfection of his own biology. Perfect calculators versus a slower mind, ultra-powerful machines in the face of the fragility of the body. Man is ashamed of his own insufficiency in the presence of the overflowing perfection of the machines he builds.
Culture surpasses nature, as Anders says.... "life adorns itself with the shiny cellophane of 'serene appearance'" the more the imperative duty for art to "be 'serious'" applies. Günther Anders.
