APEIRON

Jacopo Ferrazza - doublebass, synths, live electronics

Sebastian Marino - piano, synths, mellotron, hammond, mini moog

Apeiron is the new project by double bassist and composer Jacopo Ferrazza and pianist and composer Sebastian Marino, to be released on Friday May 15th on both CD and digital formats via Teal Dreamers Factory.

The album was born from a practice of radical improvisation and instant composition, in which each element —writing, improvisation and electroacoustic sound design— converges into a single, ever-changing musical flow. Double bass, piano and experimental electronics coexist without hierarchies, generating a sound environment in which timbral origins often become indistinguishable.

The sound of the double bass — between bow, pizzicato and electronic processes — intertwines with piano, Hammond, mellotron, synth and Minimoog, giving rise to an integrated acoustic and electroacoustic landscape.

Electronics is not an added element, but an extension of the instrumental gesture: a device through which the two musicians expand the possibilities of listening and mutual interaction.

Apeiron's music, divided into 21 tracks that make up two macro-blocks, Epanastasi and Oneiro, traverses different sound environments —from rarefied atmospheres to moments of strong expressive density —while maintaining an open and constantly evolving structure.

The title refers to the pre-Socratic concept of ἀπείρον: the indefinite, the boundless, that which potentially contains all forms.

Apeiron thus becomes a musical practice grounded in research, risk and listening, which rejects pre-established categories to construct itself entirely in the present.

Recorded in a single session without editing at La Strada Recording Studio in Rome, the album represents a direct and unmediated testimony of the dialogue between the two musicians, the result of over fifteen years of collaboration.

Apeiron will be available from May 15th, 2026 via Teal Dreamers Factory.
